If Ms. Marvel actress Iman Vellani could expand her dream MCU crossover team-ups, she would have Kamala Khan battle alongside Miles Morales, Nova, and Tom Holland’s Spider-Man. Without revealing any new names in an interview, Iman Vellani came dangerously close to teasing the entire Young Avengers cast. “I don’t know what the rules are for scenes that were cut, like, am I still supposed to keep those secrets?” she said. “I’ll say that you’re probably correct in whatever names you can guess. Like, there aren’t really that many young characters in the MCU at the moment. But she also said that, if she had her wish, she would be willing to work with superheroes who weren’t the obvious choices for a fantasy team-up. Given the infinite possibilities of the Multiverse, a crossover film starring Tom Holland’s Spider-Man doesn’t seem all that unlikely. She gushed, “I would love to see a team-up with Tom Holland’s Spider-Man,” regarding the prospect of Kamala Khan seeking guidance from Peter Parker. Honestly, I think their comic book team-ups are some of my best. That would be awesome, then. In Amazing Spider-Man (2014), Ms. Marvel and Spider-Man first came into contact as part of a group effort to put an end to a rogue Kree super soldier’s rampage through Midtown. Additionally, they collaborated on important Marvel Comics projects such as All-New, All-Different Avengers (2015), Worlds Collide (2016), Marvel Team-up (2019), and the Dark Web series (2022).
During the movie’s closing credits, Kamala Khan recruits new members of the Young Avengers, emulating Nick Fury, demonstrating how excited the Marvels star is about her role in the MCU. Given the small number of hopefuls already introduced in the MCU, Vellani implied that it would be fairly simple to predict which superheroes would join the team. However, she also stated that she would like to see some of the other comic book story arcs for her character come to pass. This was partially satisfied by a deep-cut allusion in a scene from The Marvels where Kamala Khan recommended Monica Rambeau think about taking the codename Nova. Although Sam Alexander is her personal favourite, Vellani stated she wants her character to work with both of Nova’s comic book incarnations, Richard Rider and Sam Alexander. She would also adore running into Miles Morales and declaring, “I adore Miles. The Champions comics are really great, and I really enjoy the more recent runs. They share the same wonderful chemistry as Miles, Sam, and Kamala. And I wish she had more of that youthful vitality in her life. Thus, yes, those two would be my first picks. I believe.” There’s a chance Vellani’s wish will come true because of the support fans have shown for Miles Morales’ potential to join the MCU.
