In a recent interview, actor Chris Evans expressed his hesitancy to revisit his role as Steve Rogers, aka Captain America, despite fans clamoring for more stories involving the iconic character. Evans cited the preciousness of the character to him and the implications that revisiting the role would have. He noted that while there are more stories to be told with Steve Rogers, it doesn’t mean he should jump back into the role.
Evans also spoke about the significance of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the accomplishment of weaving together a decade’s worth of films in a unique and unprecedented way. He acknowledged the challenge of trying to top the success of the franchise and how it would be tough to want to mess with the good landing of “Endgame.” While he loves the character of Steve Rogers and would love to keep playing him forever, Evans believes it doesn’t make sense for him to revisit the role right now.
