Disney+ Modifies the Order of the MCU Timeline Significantly

Disney+’s Marvel Cinematic Universe Complete Timeline feature just underwent a significant redesign that greatly simplifies the process for fans to view every movie and television show in order. A snapshot of the MCU Timeline Order on Disney+ was recently published on X by @CaptMarvelNews, demonstrating that the television series in the franchise are divided into seasons. With the majority of the Netflix/Marvel series taking place before the events of Captain America: Civil War, this has officially resolved any doubt surrounding when the shows are set. Nevertheless, following seasons of the Marvel/Netflix series take place in Phase 3 of the MCU, with Jessica Jones Season 3 and The Punisher Season 2 taking place just before the events of Avengers: Infinity War and Ant-Man and the Wasp. The second seasons of Loki and What If…? occur after the events of every other MCU movie and television show, according to the revised infographic.

It was unclear if the events of the Netflix series were regarded as canon when Marvel Studios initially brought back Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio from Daredevil to reprise their roles as Matt Murdock/Daredevil and Wilson Fisk/Kingpin, respectively, in the MCU. However, D’Onofrio said that it was decided to formally integrate all of the Netflix/Marvel shows to the MCU canon after the creative makeover of the next Disney+ series, Daredevil: Born Again. “During our restart of all the creative on Daredevil: Born Again, all the creatives got together and said, ‘Look, this is how we’ve got to do it now,'” D’Onofrio remarked. “It’s fantastic that we are solely discussing it in terms of how closely it relates to the original Daredevil. It includes all of the side tales from the first three seasons as well as several interesting new ones.” All of the Netflix and Marvel programmes have been added to the MCU Timeline Order feature on Disney+ in response to this revelation. To the joy of MCU fans, Born Again shooting started in January 2024. Set photographs confirmed the return of numerous favourite Netflix characters, including Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page and Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson. In addition, fans have been treated to glimpses of Wilson Bethel’s comeback as Bullseye and the new Daredevil outfit. The cliffhanger of Echo hinted that Wilson Fisk would be running for mayor of New York City in Born Again, an upcoming Disney+ series that is scheduled to debut in 2025. Plot specifics for the Daredevil sequel series are yet unknown.
