Madame Web’s stunning 4DX and IMAX posters hint at the mystery’s unravelling

The audience has been shown new Madame Web posters in both 4DX and IMAX formats, each with a distinct tone. The first poster, which was shared on the IMAX and Fandango X accounts, respectively, has a more horror-centric vibe to it. It shows a lady tumbling towards the title card of the film, with a spider hovering over her. The eyes of Cassandra Webb, Ezekiel Sims, Julia Carpenter, Mattie Franklin, and Anya Corazon are also depicted on the poster; the last three are linked by an energy beam that indicates the falling lady.

On the other hand, Orlando Arocena’s second poster, which has Cassandra hovering over the girls with Ezekiel appearing behind her and webs emerging from the area where Julia, Mattie, and Anya are standing, appears to be more hopeful. Interestingly, Arocena had already created a subscription cover for Spider-Man: Far From Home for the Summer 2019 edition of Empire, so this isn’t his first contact with the Spider-Man franchise.

Director S.J. Clarkson mentioned Madame Web’s affiliation with Sony’s Spider-Man Universe while discussing the Wall-Crawler. “Cassandra’s definitely in a standalone world,” she said. Rather than attempting to make the film into something different, I was able to just have free reign and let it be what it needed to be. Being able to take something and give it a new, hopefully creative perspective was, in a sense, a gift.”

“I’ve never really done a movie where you are on a blue screen, and there’s fake explosions going off, and someone’s going, ‘Explosion!’ and you act like there’s an explosion,” actress Dakota Johnson said, expressing her reservations about the production. I thought that was just insane. I was thinking, “I’m not sure if this will work out at all!” I hope I performed quite well. However, I believed SJ Clarkson. She puts so much effort into her job, and she hasn’t looked away from the film since we began.” Johnson went into further detail about how she approached the role, declaring, “It was really important to me that her life feels like, ‘Oh, I can relate to that.’ She’s really human and grounded in reality.” It might be difficult to empathise with someone who is blasting lasers out of their eyes. Not for me, that is. Obviously, I always act in such manner.”
