Sam Raimi talks about the difficulties for Spider-Man 4

Spread MCU News

Sam Raimi, who helmed the three Spider-Man movies from 2002 to 2007, recently talked about the difficulties a potential Spider-Man 4 may have. One of the most popular superhero series is the trilogy, and there have recently been rumors about a potential third installment. Sam Raimi discussed the possible storyline for a fourth Spider-Man in an interview. In 2010, Raimi, Peter Parker/Spider-Man actor Tobey Maguire, and Sony Pictures split up due to creative disputes. Since then, the role has been portrayed by two additional actors: Tom Holland in the MCU and Andrew Garfield in his The Amazing Spider-Man series. In 2021, all three appeared on film in Spider-Man: No Way Home.

In response to a question concerning a potential Spider-Man 4 plot, Raimi said he hadn’t given it much thought. Raimi said, “I haven’t because I’d have to know what that character needs to learn next.” “I would need to have a conversation with Tobey and the writers to ascertain his personal development goals for this episode.” The film’s antagonist will also be determined by Peter’s personal development, the filmmaker added. “I believe that in order to create a fourth Spider-Man movie, we would likely need to ascertain the path that Tobey Maguire, the character, would be taking and the challenges he would face along the way to reach that personal development,” Raimi stated. “And I hope that a representation of that obstacle would be used in the selection of the villain.”

Spider-Man 4 speculations were recently dispelled by Raimi, who stated, “I did read that, but I’m not actually working on it yet.” He went on, “I haven’t discussed it with Tobey, but perhaps Marvel or Columbia Pictures have. However, I recently finished a film called Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness with Marvel. I get along well with them as a result. If it were being worked on, I’m sure I would hear about it. In my opinion, yes. I’m not sure. Tom Holland has been playing the current Spider-Man since Captain America: Civil War in 2016. With Spider-Man: Homecoming in 2017, Spider-Man: Far From Home in 2019, and Spider-Man: No Way Home in 2021, the actor received his own Spider-Man series. In the upcoming fourth episode, Holland and Zendaya will return to their respective roles as Michael Jackson. Jon Watts directed the first three movies; he is not anticipated to return for the fourth.
