Marvel Comics has updated the X-Force variant covers. With Krokoa coming to an end this summer, Forge will be leading a brand-new version of Marvel’s legendary attack team in the X-Force series, which takes place during the X-Men’s impending “From the Ashes” era. Recently, Marvel revealed Geoffrey Thorne and Marcus To’s X-Force series, in which renowned artist Clayton Crain is making a comeback to the X-Force universe with a series of character-focused variant covers, beginning with Forge, the team’s captain. The alternate cover by artist Mahmud Asrar features Betsy Braddock and Rachel Summers in action. The whole crew is featured in Tony Daniel’s, including Tank, Surge, the brains behind Krakoa’s X-Force, and Surge, the previous commander of the New X-Men. In David Nakayama’s foil variant cover, Deadpool takes center stage. The Merc With a Mouth is the first character to guest star in the X-Force, a plot point where Forge hires A-List celebrities to participate in particular missions throughout the series.
Marvel’s summary of X-Force says, “Forge, the mutant inventor, will assemble this legendary comic book super team from the ground up this time! Forge, who can construct anything with an omega-level degree of his special and intricate mutant power, will observe all that is broken in the world. Fortunately, he is aware that Rachel Summers, Betsy Braddock, Sage, Surge, and Tank are the individuals he will require to fix it. They will leap sword, pistol, and fist first into lethal uncertainty to save nothing short of existence itself, and the only thing standing in their way will be the secrets they hold.” “A fresh route created! The world is broken. Using his abilities, Forge creates the one and only remedy—a completely new and unique X-Force! Forge commands a specially assembled, hand-selected group of mutants in covert operations that are so urgent and crucial to the future of the Marvel Universe that there is no time to ask for permission. Additionally, Forge will choose experts for every target as he recognizes growing risks on the world. Marvel guest stars are coming and going, and Deadpool, that regenerative degenerate, is up first.”
X-Men From the Ashes is a line-wide relaunch title that Thorne is excited about. “I cannot believe the reaction to my pitch with, ‘That sounds like X-Force to us,'” he stated. Though there is a new atmosphere and objective, X-Force remains the same. Taking a look at all the books being published under this imprint, I’ll just quote the visionary Sheryl Crow: “I just want to have fun.” I’m definitely not the only one, considering what I get to accomplish and what the others are bringing,” the writer continued. Artist on series To loves the X-Men a lot. “When Marvel approached me to be the artist for X-Force, I was ecstatic,” he said. Growing up, I was a huge fan of the X-books, so I jumped at the chance to help both new and seasoned readers experience the same thrill. And the cherry on top is getting to sketch Betsy Braddock once more.”
