According to the director Taika Waititi, Hela from the MCU shouldn’t be Thor’s next adversary. In the forthcoming Thor: Love and Thunder film by Titan Waititi discussed his ideas for a hypothetical Thor 5 in The Official Movie Special book. What else can we do with Thor? It must be something that feels like it’s continuing the character’s development while still being incredibly entertaining and providing him with challenges that seem like they are adding to the difficulties he must conquer, according to Waititi. We can’t possibly create a villain that is weaker than Hela, in my opinion. We should advance from that point on and introduce a villain who is somehow stronger.
Waititi’s first MCU film to be directed, Thor: Ragnarok, came out in 2017. Cate Blanchett’s Hela was a formidable force. She slew the Warriors Three, smashed Mjolnir, Thor’s signature hammer, and gained control of Asgard. During his final confrontation with Hela, the God of Thunder even lost his right eye. He eventually realised that the only way to destroy Hela was to trigger Ragnarok, the destruction of Asgard. Following Thor: Ragnarok, Waititi directed the 2022 film Thor: Love and Thunder, which starred Christian Bale as Gorr the God Butcher and pitted the main character against him.
The existence of a fifth Thor movie has not yet been formally announced, and Chris Hemsworth recently expressed uncertainty about his return to the role of the Asgardian Avenger. He said, “I have to be careful how I express it because I have no clue what’s going to happen in the following phase. “Conversations are ongoing… Officially, though, I’m not sure. Hemsworth continued, “I don’t want to keep doing it until people are so exhausted that they roll their eyes when they see me come on the screen as that character.” In order to shake up the character for any upcoming appearances, he said, he wants to keep Thor feeling new. I’ve enjoyed having the character reimagined a couple times. Although I don’t currently know the solution, I would love to attempt to figure out a way to repeat it and make things a little interesting.
