There will be a reorganisation of the Marvel Cinematic Universe with an emphasis on key properties. Disney CEO Bob Iger revealed this information in a statement on the company’s overall future. These plans call for a number of Disney animated smash sequels in addition to several Marvel films. Iger claims that moving ahead, Marvel Studios will be changing the Marvel assets that serve as the focal point of the MCU. In his remarks about Disney’s future, Bob Iger mostly addressed the management of prospective Pixar and Disney films. He said that Marvel Studios “is starting to focus on some of its stronger franchises going forward, but I’ll leave it at that” in a brief statement regarding the direction of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This comes amid news that the vast majority of Disney and Pixar’s next projects will be sequels to beloved films; Iger’s remarks imply that Marvel will suffer a similar fate.
This information has led some fans to believe that eagerly anticipated projects, including a new solo Hulk film, are still on hold. The fact that Universal owns the film rights to the character is a major factor in the project’s lengthy delay. It’s still unclear how this will show up for next projects, but Phases 4 and 5 of exploration and saturation will probably come to an end. Avengers: Endgame became the pinnacle of the Marvel Cinematic Universe in 2019. The brand has had considerable difficulty rising to the same heights since then. The primary cause of this has been the COVID-19 epidemic; the only films to gross more than $1 billion USD at the box office are Spider-Man: Far From Home and Spider-Man: No Way Home.
