Both Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars will be directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, while the screenplays will be written by MCU veteran Stephen McFeely.
The cast of Avengers: Doomsday is hoping to begin production in March, which bodes well for the eagerly awaited Phase 6 film. First of all, it indicates that the screenplay for Avengers: Doomsday is finished and that Marvel Studios is satisfied with the way the story is going. It’s unclear if that will apply to Avengers: Secret Wars, but it wouldn’t be remarkable if the script was written or nearly finished. The roster of Avengers: Doomsday still lacks several MCU characters, ranging from Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange to Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom to the heroes of The Fantastic Four: First Steps. However, if production begins next month, Marvel Studios will either make an announcement or additional stars will probably be disclosed in future MCU stories.
