Status: Confirmed. Numbers below are from Deadline, Variety and Sacnilk, linked at the end.

The Spider-Man: Brand New Day box office run is about to notch a milestone the MCU has not managed in four years. Heading into its fourth weekend, Variety projects another $35 to 40 million domestically, enough to keep Tom Holland’s blockbuster at No. 1 for a fourth consecutive frame. The last Marvel Studios film to lead the domestic chart four weekends running was Black Panther: Wakanda Forever back in 2022, which managed five. With the toothless End of Oak Street sequel its only new competition, Brand New Day is expected to cruise.

How much has Spider-Man: Brand New Day made so far?

The topline numbers, four weeks in: more than $810 million domestic, the fastest any film has ever reached $800 million in North America per Deadline, and past $2 billion worldwide, the second-fastest film in history to that mark behind only Avengers: Endgame. It opened above Endgame’s all-time domestic opening record, has broken single-day records for a Tuesday, and is the biggest film of 2026 globally. Whatever ceiling analysts set for it in July, it has gone through.

The Russo Brothers, who directed Endgame and are deep in post-production on Avengers: Doomsday, publicly congratulated the Brand New Day team with the words “the gauntlet has been passed”, per Deadline. They are also the next direct beneficiaries: this film’s audience is Doomsday’s audience, and Doomsday tickets are already on sale.

Spider-Man Brand New Day box office in India: the weekday cooldown

In India, where Brand New Day has been a record-breaking phenomenon for a Hollywood release, the third week is showing a normal weekday cooldown after a huge third weekend. Sacnilk’s latest day-wise figures:

DayDateIndia nett
Day 17 (3rd Sat)16 Aug₹10.25 Cr
Day 18 (3rd Sun)17 Aug₹9.50 Cr
Day 19 (3rd Mon)18 Aug₹2.10 Cr
Day 20 (3rd Tue)19 Aug₹2.55 Cr
Day 21 (3rd Wed)20 Aug₹1.80 Cr

That puts the film’s 21-day India total at roughly ₹473.50 crore nett (about ₹566 crore gross) per Sacnilk. The weekday numbers under ₹3 crore signal the honeymoon is over, but a fourth-weekend bump is still coming, and the total already makes this comfortably the Hollywood release of the year in India. We covered the record itself in yesterday’s box office report.

Why does the fourth weekend at No. 1 matter?

Opening weekends are bought with marketing; fourth weekends are earned with word of mouth. Four straight frames on top means the film is holding like the pre-pandemic event movies, not spiking and collapsing like most recent superhero releases. For Marvel Studios, which spent two years being written off after a string of underperformers, Brand New Day holding the line until Avengers: Doomsday arrives in December is the strongest possible proof that the audience never left, it was just waiting for a film it wanted.

What happens next

Weekend estimates land Saturday and Sunday US time; if the Variety projection holds, Brand New Day joins Wakanda Forever as the only MCU films in the last four years with four straight No. 1 weekends. The next milestones to watch: $900 million domestic, and whether it can pass Endgame’s India lifetime numbers before the run ends. We will have the weekend actuals, and the India figures via Sacnilk, in the next box office report.
