Status: Confirmed. The Spider-Man: Brand New Day box office run has hit two new landmarks at once. Tom Holland’s fourth solo outing has crossed 810 million dollars domestically, after becoming the fastest film ever to reach the 800 million mark in North America, and in India it is now officially the highest-grossing Hollywood release of all time, moving past Avengers: Endgame’s lifetime total. Three weeks and change into release, the film sits at roughly 2.05 billion dollars worldwide, the second-fastest movie in history to two billion, and it is still adding meaningful money every single day.
How big is the domestic run really?
Per The Numbers, the domestic total stands at 810.4 million dollars through Wednesday, August 19, with recent dailies of 7.5 million (Monday), 9.9 million (Tuesday’s discount-day bump) and 6.5 million (Wednesday). The Hollywood Reporter notes the film reached 800 million domestically faster than any release in history, and Deadline pegged its third weekend at 71 million dollars, the second-best third frame ever. For context, only Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Avengers: Endgame, Spider-Man: No Way Home and Avatar have ever played in this territory, and Brand New Day is outpacing all of their weekday holds at the same point.
Why is the India record such a big deal?
India has been the story of this release. Per Sacnilk, the film has collected roughly 475 crore rupees nett in 22 days, around 568 crore gross, making it the biggest Hollywood film in Indian box office history. The previous benchmark, Avengers: Endgame, finished its entire lifetime run at about 373 crore nett, per Koimoi, meaning Brand New Day is already more than 100 crore clear of the record with weeks of runway left. The 500 crore nett milestone, once considered impossible for a Hollywood title, is now a realistic fourth-weekend target.
| Day | Date | India nett (Sacnilk) |
|---|---|---|
| Day 16 | Fri, Aug 14 | ₹3.90 Cr |
| Day 17 | Sat, Aug 15 | ₹10.25 Cr |
| Day 18 | Sun, Aug 16 | ₹9.50 Cr |
| Day 19 | Mon, Aug 17 | ₹2.10 Cr |
| Day 20 | Tue, Aug 18 | ₹2.55 Cr |
| Day 21 | Wed, Aug 19 | ₹1.80 Cr |
| Day 22 | Thu, Aug 20 | ₹1.75 Cr |
| Total | 22 days | ₹475.40 Cr nett |
Where does Brand New Day rank worldwide now?
Worldwide, the picture is just as stark. The global total is approximately 2.05 billion dollars, built from 810 million domestic and about 1.24 billion international, with China leading overseas markets at nearly 198 million dollars. Variety reports the film hit two billion in three weeks, the second-fastest ever behind only Avengers: Endgame, and it became the first Spider-Man film in history to join the two-billion club. Against a reported 225 million dollar production budget, Brand New Day has returned roughly nine times its cost, and it passed the full lifetime grosses of No Way Home and every 2024 and 2025 release weeks ago. We flagged the two-billion crossing in our earlier report, Brand New Day crosses 2.04 billion, and the totals have kept climbing since.
What happens next
The fourth weekend will decide two races: whether India crosses the 500 crore nett line, and whether the domestic run can push toward Endgame’s 858 million total, which would make Brand New Day the third-biggest domestic release ever. A digital release date has not been announced, and with holds this strong Sony has no reason to hurry. Expect the next major milestone, and our next update, within days.
