More time is being allocated for the live-action Spider-Man films to flourish on the big screen. The Amazing Spider-Man movies, Tom Holland’s MCU trilogy, and Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man trilogy are all scheduled to return to theatres in 2024, according to rumours. The films making their theatre debuts are a part of Sony Pictures’ commemoration of Columbia Pictures’ 100th anniversary. April through June will see them reappear in theatres in the same chronological order as their first release.

The films Spider-Man (2002), Spider-Man 2 (2004), Spider-Man 3 (2007), The Amazing Spider-Man (2012), The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (2012), Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017), Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019), May 27; and Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021) are scheduled for release on April 15, May 22, and May 13. There are currently no signs pointing to a re-release of the animated Spider-Verse movies as well.

The historical Spider-Man films are hitting theatres at a moment when the character’s big screen future is still up in the air. Tom Holland said in November that he was in active talks with Sony about returning for a new picture, thus it’s believed that he will make another film. He stated that he wants the No Way Home sequel to be a film that feels worthwhile, therefore the delay is because he is waiting for the appropriate concept to be offered for his comeback.

According to Holland, “I feel very protective over Spider-Man,” Collider said. “I want to preserve his legacy, and I feel really fortunate that we were able to work on a series that, in my opinion, is quite uncommon—one that became better and more popular with each film. I hereby promise not to create another one just for the pleasure of doing so. It must be worthwhile for the character to invest their time on.” In the meanwhile, there have been rumours of a Miles Morales-focused live-action movie that will be a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Producer Amy Pascal of the franchise has hinted that the movie will happen, but only after production on Tom Holland’s upcoming fourth feature and the next animated sequel, Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse, is completed. It could be some time until the Miles Morales movie is released because there isn’t a specific release date for any of these movies.
