Marvel fans will always remember Adan Canto for his portrayal of Sunspot in X-Men: Days of Future Past. Sadly, Canto passed away. Canto, according to accounts, died on January 8 after a quiet fight with appendiceal cancer. Representatives for him verified his demise, saying in a statement that “Adan had a depth of spirit that few truly knew.” Whoever caught a sight of it was eternally altered. Many people will miss him terribly. The actor, who was Mexican-American, was just 42 years old. Canto’s first American acting job was in the Fox television series The Following, and his last American part was in the Warner Bros. Television series The Cleaning Lady. Canto was apparently hoped to reunite with the actors of The Cleaning Lady at some time during Season 3, but he was unable to return to the set when filming began in December due to his deteriorating health. Regarding Canto’s demise, Fox and Warner Bros. TV jointly made a statement, and it has been confirmed that The Cleaning Lady will honour the late actor with a title card in the show’s Season 3 premiere.
The statement said, “We are deeply saddened to hear of Adan Canto’s passing.” We were privileged to have him as a member of the Warner Bros. Television and Fox Entertainment family since his breakthrough role in The Following over ten years ago. He is a fantastic performer and a close friend. Most recently, he commanded the screen in The Cleaning Lady, showcasing his range, sensitivity, and talent in a compelling performance. We are in deep sorrow together with his wife Stephanie, their kids, and other loved ones at this inexplicable loss. Adan will be sorely missed. Canto, who has always been an entertainer, began his career in show business in Mexico City as a professional vocalist. Canto achieved popularity with his debut in the United States with his role in The Following, following his foray into acting with appearances in advertisements and on stage. Canto appeared in the television series Mixology, Blood & Oil, Second Chance, The Catch, and Narcos. He also starred in the primary role in the ABC (and later Netflix) series Designated Survivor. Marvel fans may associate Canto’s performance as Sunspot from the 2014 movie X-Men: Days of Future Past the most. He also had a significant part in the 2019 film Bruised, which was directed by Halle Berry. Berry portrayed the manager of an MMA fighter that he played. Canto had more appearances in films such as Agent Game, 2 Hearts, The Devil Below, and Amanda & Jack Go Glamping.
