Blade Starts Filming May 30th

After months of anticipation, Marvel’s Blade reboot is finally ready to begin filming. The movie, starring Mahershala Ali as the titular vampire hunter, is set to start production on May 30, 2021.

The reboot of the beloved Blade franchise was initially announced at San Diego Comic-Con in 2019 and has been highly anticipated by fans of the original trilogy. Ali has been tapped to play the leading role and will be joined by a star-studded cast, including Delroy Lindo, Aaron Pierre, and Emmy nominee Stacy Osei-Kuffour, who penned the script.

Bassam Tariq is directing Blade and has previously worked on the acclaimed indie feature Mogul Mowgli, which earned him a BAFTA nomination. Tariq has since shared his enthusiasm for the project on social media, giving fans a glimpse into the direction he’ll be taking.
