The Marvels director Nia DaCosta has declared that Hala, the homeworld of the Kree people, will once again be the setting of the next MCU film. According to rumours, DaCosta talked about ensuring that every planet featured in the MCU spinoff felt distinct in the official production brief for The Marvels. “I wanted each planet to feel unique, and it was a key component of the production design. I wanted to make sure the designs didn’t cross over,” she said. So, while we’re in Tarnax, the architecture has a lovely flow to it. I wanted the planet Aladna to be sunny, colourful, bright, cosy, and joyful like Positano when we arrived there. Hala will be revisited after initially appearing in Captain Marvel (2019), according to DaCosta, who also said that it will be depicted as “a technological city.” The Marvels villain Dar-Benn, a scientist-warrior turned politician, was also mentioned by DaCosta. He will be “hellbent on saving the Kree home planet of Hala and exalting her people to their rightful place in the universe.” The next film will star Zawe Ashton as Dar-Benn, who is betrothed to MCU staple Tom Hiddleston (Thor’s Loki). Dar-Benn, a gender-flipped version of a little-known Marvel character, has been spotted in promotional images for The Marvels brandishing an Accuser’s war-hammer, which Ronan (Lee Pace) originally used in Guardians of the Galaxy (2014).
Dar-Benn, the antagonist of The Marvel comic book series and a former scientist-warrior turned politician, was also referenced by DaCosta. He will be “hellbent on saving the Kree home planet of Hala and exalting her people to their rightful place in the universe.” In the next film, Dar-Benn will be portrayed by Zawe Ashton, who is betrothed to MCU mainstay Tom Hiddleston (Thor’s Loki). Using an Accuser’s war-hammer, which Ronan (Lee Pace) originally used in Guardians of the Galaxy (2014), Dar-Benn, a gender-flipped version of a nearly unheard-of Marvel character, has been noticed in promotional materials for The Marvels. In The Marvels, S.A.B.E.R. agent Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) brings together Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel, Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris), and Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel when the powers of the former three intertwine. Dar-Benn, a Kree villain who also happens to be wearing a bracelet Kamala Khan found in the Disney+ series Ms. Marvel, may be to blame for connecting the abilities of the female superheroes, according to The Marvels trailers.
