Fan recreates the ending scene from Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse using LEGO animation

Preston Mutanga, a young animator, used LEGOs to recreate Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse’s climax. In a video posted to YouTube, Miles Morales (Shameik Moore) is seen after arriving on Earth-42, a place where there is no Spider-Man and where crime is rampant and his father, Jefferson, is no longer alive. When Miles’ Uncle Aaron (Mahershala Ali) kidnaps him, he pleads for his release so he may save his own Jefferson from the Spot’s schemes. Miles tries to persuade Aaron to stop being the Prowler by appealing to his better nature, but Aaron’s violent response shows that Miles doesn’t know what he’s talking about. The true Prowler of Earth-42, Miles G. Morales (Jharrel Jerome), introduces himself to Miles and makes it obvious that he has no interest in releasing his prisoner. The film’s directors and Brian Michael Bendis, the comic book author who co-created Miles in 2011, praised Mutanga for his shot-by-shot reconstruction of the first Across the Spider-Verse trailer in LEGO. It was highly liked enough that the 14-year-old animator was hired for the actual production, supplying the moments in which the Spot learns that there is a LEGO Spider-Man universe and that Miguel O’Hara (Oscar Isaac) is informed of his deeds.

The cliffhanger conclusion of Across the Spider-Verse sets up Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse, the third installment in the series. Originally scheduled for release on March 29, 2024, the movie has now been dropped off Sony’s release calendar, supposedly as a result of a lack of animation development and actors being unable to complete dialogue recording owing to the SAG-AFTRA strike. Phil Lord and Chris Miller, the film’s producers and co-writers, have stated that they are prepared to postpone the movie’s release so they can “take the time necessary to make Beyond the Spider-Verse great.” The actor Karan Soni, who plays Spider-Man India’s Pavitr Prabhakar in the movie, stated his worry that Beyond would not be able to measure up to the bar established by its predecessors. “How are they going to make the next one?” I wonder. What more is there to do, I simply think? But I’m concerned about them,” he remarked. You can only set the bar so high, right? We’re so close to having the ideal trilogy, so I’m just anxious about what they’re going to do because I feel anxious for them about what is permitted. He said that Moore is the only member of the ensemble who is aware of the direction the Spider-Verse tale will go.
