According to executive producer Kevin Wright, Victor Timely from Jonathan Majors’ Loki Season 2 is still expected to have a significant part. In an interview, Wright said that Marvel Studios hadn’t changed Loki’s second season to downplay Majors’ character’s significance due to his actual legal troubles. We are really, very thrilled about Victor Timely, the man added. “When you look at Kang, you’ll see that his comical past is quite humorous. There are several variations of him. One thing we’ve always wanted to achieve with Loki was timely. And I believe that we are quite enthusiastic about how that fits into the season. It plays a major role in the programme. Wright’s remarks are consistent with a previous rumour that claimed to have revealed how much screen time Majors will have in the next Marvel Cinematic Universe series. According to the rumour, Majors will play Timely, a Kang the Conqueror rip-off, in “about half of the episodes” of Loki Season 2’s six episodes. Wright’s interview makes it seem as though the report’s general accuracy is confirmed, even though Marvel Studios and Disney+ did not reply on its contents at the time. Wright didn’t completely spill the beans, though, and didn’t say if MCU fans may anticipate seeing Majors portray Kang in roles other than Timely.
However, the executive producer was much more open about other characters in Loki’s second season, particularly Ke Huy Quan’s OB. Wright, who identified OB as the top technologist and inventor for the Time Variance Authority, provided further context for how the character fits into Season 2’s storyline. “OB’s job is basically everything that is running at the TVA in terms of technology, computers, and other devices,” he said. He either created it or maintains it by fixing it. Quan took the job, according to Wright, because he is “a giant Marvel fan and was a big fan of Loki Season 1.” Those who are MCU fans won’t have to wait long to witness Victor Timely and OB in action. Marvel Studios has revealed that Season 2 would begin one day earlier than originally stated, on October 5, 2023, via a post on the official Loki X account. The early release of Loki Season 2 was not explained, although it fits into a recent pattern of Disney+ moving forward release dates. Ahsoka, another significant title on the streaming service, also debuted a day early in August 2023.
