For Deadpool 3, it’s possible that another X-Men series veteran may don his claws once more. Actor Liev Schreiber will appear in Wade Wilson’s next threequel, claims leaker and source Daniel Richtman. Although specifics about his participation in the story have not been made public, it is believed that the character will be “bigger than a cameo” but won’t play a significant part in it. Marvel Studios and Disney have not yet confirmed the news, as is the case with many rumours, therefore it is advised to take it with a grain of salt. If Schreiber does make a comeback, he won’t be the only mutant wandering about Deadpool 3 with claws. Despite saying he was done with the role after 2017’s Logan, Hugh Jackman, the iconic face of Wolverine, has been confirmed to return as Logan. The actor said that he felt excluded when seeing the original Deadpool in 2016 when asked why he eventually made the decision to return. “I’m a terrible poker player,” Jackman said. “When I said that I was finished, I truly meant it. However, it’s clear that this concept was simmering and hiding someplace deep inside. Twenty minutes into Deadpool, I had just announced—literally weeks earlier—that Logan would be my final performance as Wolverine, and I completely meant for it to be the case. I immediately thought, “Uh-oh.”

For his part, Schreiber has acknowledged that he would have wanted to play Sabretooth in Logan, the final film to showcase Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, but that scheduling simply didn’t permit it. In 2017, Schreiber stated, “Given Ray Donovan’s schedule, it was very difficult, and I think they went a different direction with story.” “I believe the movie is fantastic. Just for how he conducted himself with that series and that persona, Hugh has my utmost admiration. Being associated with one of them and getting to work with them was a wonderful experience. When I learned that dad was retiring, I felt conflicted. Early in 2023, Schreiber observed that Marvel Studios never really contacted him about reprising his role as Sabretooth. “They omitted asking me. He responded, “No, I mean, I don’t think he was involved in that tale, you know? Victor wasn’t a part of that story, even though I would have delighted to have him back at any time or place. Though definitely not for Sabretooth, I wonder if I’m a touch “long in the tooth.”
