Many supporters of the Marvel Cinematic Universe believe John Boyega should portray Kang if he makes a comeback. Jonathan Majors was supposed to be the main antagonist of the forthcoming sequel Avengers: The Kang Dynasty. He previously portrayed the villain in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and Loki. Majors was sacked by Marvel Studios from the role after a jury convicted him guilty of assault and harassment, casting doubt on Kang’s future in the MCU. While several actors have been suggested by fans as possible Kang substitutes, one name has emerged as one of the most well-liked options. Boyega is the one in question, and some fans have even gone so far as to draw fan art of the Star Wars star in the part.
Even though a lot of people are pushing for Boyega to be cast, there is a significant barrier standing in the way. In the event that Marvel decided to fire Majors, fans have been debating recasting Kang for weeks. Boyega posted pictures of himself with Anthony Mackie, star of Captain America: Brave New World, in November. One fan suggested that Boyega ask Mackie to help with the possible recasting of Kang, but Boyega sent back a GIF of Donkey from Shrek shaking his head, implying that the proposal is definitely not going to happen.
If Kang were to be completely removed from the MCU, the plot would remain unfinished, but new information indicates that the villain’s influence would be reduced. Following Marvel’s separation with Majors, rumours circulated that Avengers: The Kang Dynasty will probably get a new title. As of right now, the film is internally known as just Avengers 5. That came after earlier rumours that Marvel Studios was thinking of removing the Kang narrative from the MCU, maybe by having Doctor Doom or another supervillain take his place in the upcoming Avengers movie.
