Wolverine’s debut will be 50 years old in2024, and Marvel is celebrating early by launching a month-long variant cover series in January called WOLVERINE WOLVERINE WOLVERINE, in which the Canadian mutant hero will appear on homage variant covers to several iconic Marvel covers from various characters. For example, Wolverine will appear as Captain America on an issue of Captain America, and so on. Of course, not every title will have a cover specifically for that character; for example, a Doctor Strange issue may feature a Ghost Rider homage cover. Wolverine’s presence on every one of them is the lone constant.
In order to include multiple characters (such as Age of Apocalypse Weapon X or Old Man Logan) on the covers, the artists were also able to include some of Wolverine’s “family” of characters, such as Talon and Daken, since Wolverine is filling in for multiple characters on some of these covers. We’ll list all of the comics that WILL ultimately receive cover releases along with the 15 covers that Marvel has already issued, and we’ll let you know which one is our favourite.
