The animated Marvel Zombies series will revolve around Iman Vellani’s Ms. Marvel. The new project, which has been in production since 2021, is a spinoff to the Marvel Zombies-themed episode of the anthology series What If…? The plot of the Marvel Zombies series on Disney+ is unknown, but it will pit superheroes who are still alive against zombie versions of their former colleagues. Iman Vellani, star of The Marvels and Ms. Marvel, disclosed in a recent interview that Kamala Khan will be playing a major role—possibly the most important one of all—by drawing comparisons to Elijah Wood’s Frodo from the Lord of the Rings film series. “We completed the task entirely. It was incredible. I had a great time,” Vellani remarked. “And I adore—the Marvel Zombies series has a tonne of awesome characters. Furthermore, Kamala is the main character in the programme. They told me that she’s essentially the story’s Frodo, and I thought it was incredible.”

In addition, Vellani said, “And I get to interact and meet all these people along her journey,” showing off how much she enjoyed seeing her character interact with so many other Marvel favourites. Indeed, they are only voices, and I am not able to hear them in real time. But hey, it’s only my dreams, right? Even if it’s only animation, it’s still extremely nice to know Kamala will connect with some pretty cool folks. Vellani is obviously a huge fan of Marvel, and she has even shared some suggestions for how to make Avengers: Endgame restore the MCU to its former glory. Regarding Ms. Marvel’s return to live-action outside of Marvel Zombies, it’s unclear how far the character will go in the MCU. Any tentative intentions to give the picture a direct sequel featuring the return of all three of its actors may be thwarted by the Marvels’ severe box office underperformance. Vellani, nevertheless, is also hopeful for a second season of Ms. Marvel, since there have been rumours of one being developed. “To start with, I would be thrilled to see Ms. Marvel in Season 2,” Vellani stated in a recent interview. “I want to go deeper into the ties between Kamala and her family because I believe they still have a lot to tell. What transpires between Bruno and Kamala intrigues me. I’m interested in learning which college she gets accepted to. I want her to have a life and to be a person. She should be the leader of her own squad, too, in my opinion. Finding a method to switch between TV programme seasons and movies would be nice so that you don’t feel like you have to complete homework after every movie you watch.”
