In the book Black Panther: Wakanda Forever – Official Movie Special, Marvel Studios takes readers back to Wakanda. The 96-page hardback book, according to Marvel, offers a thorough examination of the hugely successful Black Panther sequel and includes an extensive collection of on-set pictures and production art. Interviews with director Ryan Coogler and the film’s outstanding cast—which includes Letitia Wright, Lupita Nyong’o, and Angela Bassett—as well as newcomers Dominique Thorne and Tenoch Huerta—give readers an inside look at the film’s production. “The struggle to move on after a father’s loss was central to Black Panther. T’Challa had to consider the sort of man he would become. “This movie delves into Ramonda and Shuri’s relationship,” says Coogler in a clip taken from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever – Official Movie Special. Although we are familiar with Ramonda as the mother of the king, she also plays the role as Wakanda’s queen and mother to her daughter, Shuri, in this movie.
Coogler goes on to discuss the setup for Wakanda Forever, letting us see what she was going through and her viewpoint on T’Challa’s death, which is quite different from Shuri’s perspective. Ramonda remained after the Blip, but Shuri and T’Challa vanished. Her character has gone through this really difficult emotional experience of losing both of her children, getting back together with them, and then losing one more. She’s attempting to provide Shuri with some emotional clarity about this.” Coogler also discusses Namor’s inclusion in the narrative. He expressed his excitement at playing this character in the movie. “Originally published in 1939, when Marvel Comics was still known as Timely Comics, he is one of the most venerable Marvel characters. The very way he looks indicates that Wakanda is not as safe as it always believed. Black Panther features an entertaining rogues gallery in the comic books. Along with many others, he had disagreements with Dr. Doom, Kraven the Hunter, Erik Killmonger, Ulysses Klaue, and the X-Men.” However, Coogler said, “the ones that stick in your head are the conflicts he has with Namor.” These usually had the best lines of speech and were the most intricate and enjoyable. T’Challa informs Klaue in the first Black Panther movie, “Every breath you take is mercy from me.” However, Black Panther told Namor that in the comics. Despite having a great deal in common, these individuals detested one another for unknown reasons.”
