Actor Paul Walter Hauser is the man of the hour. Hauser is now expected to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe, after two recent casting announcements for significant motion projects. Hauser recently received a casting call for The Fantastic Four, an MCU movie that will open in cinemas in the summer of 2025. Since his part is yet unknown, fans will have to make assumptions about the character he could be portraying. He now appears among the film’s leading actors, including Ebon Moss-Bachrach (Ben Grimm/The Thing), Vanessa Kirby (Sue Storm/Invisible Woman), Joseph Quinn (Johnny Storm/Human Torch), and Pedro Pascal (Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic). Additionally, Julia Garner has been chosen to play Shalla-Bal, the Silver Surfer’s feminine counterpart. Hauser was recently cast as Captain Ed in the Leslie Nielsen remake, The Naked Gun, earlier this week. The movie also stars Pamela Anderson and Liam Neeson. A new biopic on Saturday Night Live great Chris Farley, which Hauser is starring in, was announced to be set up at New Line in April. Although Hauser has been receiving praise for years, it appears that his popularity has increased since he won an Emmy and a Golden Globe for his performance in Black Bird.

In a 2021 interview, Hauser hinted at his desire of playing Chris Farley: “I wanted to do a Chris Farley movie where he’s in rehab for half of the film, and for the other half of the movie, he’s doing his SNL stuff and his movies.” “I believe my interpretation of that narrative is very fantastic, but I’m trying to reinvent myself as an actor and as a person who makes good decisions while still attempting to lose weight. Thus, the window of opportunity to play Fatty Arbuckle, Chris Farley, or Ignatius J. Reilly in a Confederacy of Dunces film is growing narrower every week.” The film is being directed by Matt Shakman (WandaVision), and a number of others, including Ian Springer, Josh Friedman, Eric Pearson, Jeff Kaplan, and Peter Cameron, contributed to the writing. Although the movie’s plot is unknown, it is anticipated that it will take place in the 1960s based on the images from the initial poster. It’s unclear how closely it relates to the MCU and whether any crossover characters will make an appearance.
