Whether it was the rock tunes featured in Guardians of the Galaxy or the chilling score that accompanied Tony Stark’s burial in Avengers: Endgame, music has always played a significant part in MCU films and television programmes. However, because of their evocative names and musical tones, song titles sometimes reveal spoilers before they are even revealed. This appears to be the case with the recently released song titles for the next MCU movie Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania, which comes out in a few days.
Song Titles with Ant-Man 3 Spoilers

The official song titles for the Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania soundtrack have been made available on Spotify, and some of them may include minor plot spoilers. “Threnody for a Reformed Dick” is a tune that stands out very sharply. This title signifies that someone who was a dick in the past but later changed and was memorialised with a song known as a threnody will pass away and be mourned. The first person who comes to mind when thinking of a potential victim is probably repentant criminal Scott Lang. However, Scott was never a “dick,” and in fact, as the first Ant-Man movie revealed, he committed crimes explicitly intended to harm elitists who looked down on others. However, this title does give the hero more reason to expect bad things. The addition of the song title “Hymenoptera,” which refers to an umbrella word for all insects, is another intriguing choice. Although ants themselves (rather than the ant-themed heroes) have only truly made a significant appearance in the Heineken ad for the film, the song’s title suggests that the Pyms’ beloved ants may be returning despite the film’s unusual setting.
A storyline component in the future movie appears to be connected to the phrase “Honey, I Shrunk the Energy Core,” which is a reference to Disney’s Honey, I Shrunk the Kids series. Kang will reportedly try to get a “device” of his back “online,” most likely his time chair, according to Kevin Feige. The song’s title and a recently-released photograph of Kang working on what looks to be an energy core of sorts (while seated in his time chair) suggest that this energy core will cause some destruction. “Sting Low, Sweet Variant” is a title that stands out, to sum it up. Interestingly, the word “variant” had only ever been used in Loki, while being frequently used in rumour conjecture and the idea being prevalent in Spider-Man: No Way Home and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. It is being utilised for the first time in this song’s lyrics outside of the performance.
The Ant-Family is known for its clever jokes and quick humour, and this list of all the songs in the soundtrack is no exception:
1. Theme from “Quantumania” (2:33)
2. We Should Be Dead (2:21)
3. What Is This Place? (1:48)
4. Skies of Axia (2:44)
5. The Hunter (4:24)
6. Fifty Shades of Kang (3:23)
7. Quantum Nexus (3:16)
8. The Conqueror (6:17)
9. Through the Storm (3:14)
10. Sting Operation (2:17)
11. Honey, I Shrunk the Energy Core (3:02)
12. Look Out For the Little Guy (2:11)
13. He’s Kang, He Saw, He Conquered (1:23)
14. Sting Low, Sweet Variant (3:41)
15. Like Father Like Daughter (1:09)
16. Kang Bang (3:19)
17. Alien Ant Harm (2:29)
18. Threnody for a Reformed Dick (2:21)
19. Lang vs. Kang (2:49)
20. Don’t Let Go (2:17)
21. Hymenoptera (2:32)
22. Holes – David Dastmalchian (0:44)
These song titles reveal a lot about probable narrative lines in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania beyond just what first stands out. One reason is that names like “Honey, I Shrunk the Energy Core” and “Like Father, Like Daughter” make the familial theme fairly obvious. Another is that the movie’s strong emphasis on Kang is made very evident by the five tunes that specifically mention him, four of which do so by name.
Fortunately, the release of Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania in cinemas on February 17 means that fans won’t have to wait much longer for clarification.
