SPIDER-MAN Star Yuri Lowenthal Has Yet To Be Contacted About An ACROSS THE SPIDER-VERSE

Spread MCU News

The upcoming Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is generating a lot of anticipation, especially since the film is set to feature a tonne of different Spider-Mans. Even though we freely admitted that we anticipated most of them to be supporting cast members, it might be wise to lower our hopes for the sequel at this point.

Along with Miles Morales, the wildly popular PlayStation Spider-Man was seen in the trailer and was prominently displayed on a recently released banner.

Despite this, Spider-Man actor Yuri Lowenthal, who will play the character again in Spider-Man 2 this fall, says Sony Pictures and the film’s producers haven’t gotten in touch with him about providing the hero’s voice. There is still time to hire Lowenthal, but this might be a sign that his Spidey will only appear briefly.

For what it’s worth, the actor, who was chatting with us about his portrayal of Mon El in the upcoming Legion of Super-Heroes film on February 7, isn’t worried and wasn’t even slightly critical of the production company or anyone else involved. However, he would adore the opportunity to take part in what appears to be a very special film.

“I hope so. [Laughs] You know, I still don’t know and I keep waiting for my phone to ring. There are many ways they could play that and one of those ways is, much like they showcased our suit in the background in the first film, you might just get to see him. I don’t know. I hope.”

“It always sounds desperate when I say, ‘Yeah, I would love to be in it.’ Then people report on that: ‘Actor would do anything to be in the new movie!’” Lowenthal chuckled as he continued. “I try not to talk about it too much because I don’t want to sound desperate, but I hope so.”

We certainly hope so, especially given that the actor has come to be associated with the web-slinger as a result of his outstanding portrayal in Spider-Man. Although the marketing for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse hasn’t focused much on this Peter Parker, fans are hopeful he’ll have a role to play, and Lowenthal is crucial to that.

On February 7, Legion of Super-Heroes is scheduled for release.
