The director of Madame Web, S. J. Clarkson, has explained why there isn’t a typical post-credit scene in the movie. Part of Sony’s Spider-Man Universe, Madame Web is the fourth movie in the series, which comes after Morbius and the Venom films. Additionally, it is the only SSU movie without a sequence set in the middle or after the credits. Usually, at least one of these scenes is featured during or after the credits of other movies based on Marvel or DC comic books. Usually, the purpose of these scenes is to hint to additional forthcoming tie-in movies. Conversely, Madame Web has neither a mid-credits nor a post-credits scene. In a recent interview, director S. J. Clarkson gave an explanation of why that is.
Clarkson responded, “Yeah, it was about telling a great story.” “If you have something to say, get up, say it, and then shut up, my father used to always say. As a result, I thought the movie had covered all the ground it needed to when the closing credits rolled. The next person in queue will have to press the button.” The film’s early reviews and weekend box office estimates are not promising for Madame Web, which might significantly reduce the likelihood of a sequel. However, actress Dakota Johnson has stated that she would come back if asked to play Madame Web again. Additionally, the character could make an appearance in a different SSU project. However, as of right now, there are no plans to reveal when the character could appear once more.
Madame Web was co-written by S. J. Clarkson, Matt Sazama, Burk Sharpless, and Claire Parker. Clarkson also served as director. The film stars Sydney Sweeney, Mike Epps, Adam Scott, Emma Roberts, Celeste O’Connor, Tahar Rahim, and Isabela Merced in addition to Dakota Johnson, who plays the title role. Clarkson has praised Kerry Bishé for her important role as the mother of Dakota Johnson’s character. In an interview, Clarkson stated, “She’s the heartbeat of the movie, and without that story, you don’t really get to understand who Madame Web is.” Indeed, there is a resemblance. Both of them are really vibrant ladies who are also accomplished performers with depth and breadth, which definitely helped with this. Thus, what a blessing it was for Kerry to enter and portray her mother and for DJ to play Madame Web.”
