The Loki season 2 trailer quietly breaks a new Disney+ MCU record

Prior to its autumn premiere, the Loki Season 2 teaser was recently published, and it has already made MCU history in a number of different ways. The first official trailer for Loki’s astonishingly pricey second season premiered on Monday, July 31 & 67 days before the Disney+ show’s October 6 release. The reason why this date is crucial is that Loki, starring Tom Hiddleston as the God of Mischief, has broken a record for the quickest time between a live-action MCU Disney+ show’s debut teaser and its official premiere date.

The film Moon Knight, starring Oscar Isaac in the title role, formerly held the record for releasing the official trailer 71 days before the Disney+ launch on March 30, 2022. Interestingly, the Secret Invasion, which was poorly received, presently retains the record for the longest time between a series’ initial trailer and its premiere date. 284 days prior to its premiere on June 21, 2023, the first Phase Five MCU show released its first teaser on September 10, 2022. The gaps in all the MCU series on Disney+ to date, listed in descending order from Loki Season 2 and Moon Knight, are Secret Invasion with 284 days, What If…? at 243, Loki Season 1 with 180, WandaVision with 117, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier with 98, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law with 93, Ms. Marvel with 85, and Hawkeye with 72.

Fans are more eager than ever for the October launch of Loki Season 2 after the Season 1 finale’s big storyline bombshell was revealed in the teaser. According to reports, the eagerly awaited tale would wrap up some loose ends in the MCU’s chronology, and the Loki Season 2 teaser teased that Jonathan Majors’ portrayal of Kang the Conqueror will receive more screen time. The only Marvel Studios series on Disney+ to receive a second season is Loki. The second season of Loki introduces Oscar winner Ke Huy Quan (Everything Everywhere All at Once) to the Marvel Cinematic Universe along with Majors and returning actor Tom Hiddleston. Other cast members include Tara Strong, Kate Dickie, Liz Carr, Wunmi Mosaku, Eugene Cordero, Rafael Casal, Sophia Di Martino, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, and Owen Wilson.

The second season of Loki will premiere on Disney+ on October 6, 2023.
