The Marvels’ new trailer reveals the biggest mystery in the MCU blockbuster

The first full-length teaser for The Marvels has just been released, and it throws new insight on the biggest enigma surrounding the impending Marvel Cinematic Universe episode. The trailer is provided by Marvel Studios. It emphasises Dar-Benn (Zawe Ashton), the main villain of The Marvels, more than the teaser, and appears to reveal the Kree warrior is responsible for Carol Danvers’ (Brie Larson), Monica Rambeau’s (Teyonah Parris), and Kamala Khan’s (Iman Vellani) location-swapping dilemma. The full-length Marvels teaser also shows more of Carol, Monica, and Kamala’s relationship, as well as the return of Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury. Carol’s pet Goose, a feline-like Flerken, also had a memorable time in the caravan. Goose’s presence in The Marvels’ latest ad corresponds with executive producer Mary Livanos’ recent statements on the fan-favorite character’s enlarged role in the MCU film. Goose, according to Livanos, will play a key role in The Marvels and will take viewers off surprise, much like she did in Captain Marvel in 2019. “Goose is her own person,” she declared. “She is full of surprises, and she certainly has a lot in store for us over the course of this story.” In The Marvels, Goose is played by two cat actors, Nemo and Tango, with other cats filling in for the bigger pack of flerkens shown in both trailers.

The cats rapidly became popular with the film’s actors and crew, who looked forward to the days when they were on site, according to Livanos. “Whenever the kittens were around, the crew was overjoyed,” she recounted. “When we had our bigger kitten scenes, it felt like Christmas.” Each person had a favourite.” However, not everyone adored Nemo, Tango, and The Marvels’ other cats. Brie Larson, in particular, kept her distance from her feline co-stars, although for very practical reasons. “I’m still allergic [to cats],” Larson said. “I’m hoping that changes.” But, until it does, a large portion of the CGI money goes to me and the cat.” If Nemo and Tango were Larson’s least favourite co-stars, Iman Vellani may have been her favourite. In a recent interview, the Oscar winner commended Vellani, characterising her comprehensive understanding of established MCU lore as a crucial tool during The Marvels filming. “I’ve only recently learned to trust Iman because she has her timelines in order.” She’s the one who is always lecturing us. Without her, I’d have no idea how old Carol is. “She’s really good at maths,” Larson remarked.
