Tom Hiddleston, the star of Loki, can’t be sure his time in the MCU is officially up

While Tom Hiddleston feels like his journey as Loki in the Marvel Cinematic Universe has been wrapped up perfectly with Loki Season 2, the actor doesn’t want to say for certain he’ll never play the role again. Recently, Hiddleston discussed the Loki Season 2 conclusion on Jimmy Fallon’s Tonight Show. He mentioned that the series finale served as a “conclusion” to his whole 14-year “journey” in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as well as to the first two seasons of the show. That gave rise to rumours that Hiddleston was saying goodbye to the MCU and Loki, although that might not be the case after all. In an interview, Hiddleston admitted that he wasn’t entirely certain he was done with the MCU because he had experienced similar feelings in the past when Loki was eliminated. “It’s so hard because I’ll be completely honest with you, Brandon, I have at least twice in my life said goodbye,” Hiddleston stated. “I’ve expressed my gratitude in writing to Victoria Alonso, Louis de Esposito, and Kevin Feige. They’ve responded with letters that read, “Come and see us anytime. It’s been like the role of a lifetime.” You are a member of the family forever. We never leave you. We’ve shared tears and you’ve given us so much. Hence, I believe it would be imprudent of me to draw any firm conclusions at this time.”

Although Hiddleston isn’t currently officially involved in any forthcoming Marvel films, he did discuss how he thinks a reunion between Chris Hemsworth’s Thor and his character Loki may be interesting. Hiddleston believes that their reunion would be very different from their prior meetings because of all the changes that both characters have undergone since their last encounter. “I think both Thor and Loki have had to excavate and analyze the past and who they feel they really are and what they really want,”as Hiddleston put it.”However, another fascinating thing about families—this is just my opinion—is that sometimes it can be hard to let go of the ideas of who they used to be.Loki may have specific expectations about Thor’s actions or personality. Thor may have specific expectations about Loki. As a result, I believe that at first it would be incredibly perplexing. Moreover, they had been away for a while and had probably been objects in one other’s minds. Thus, yes, I do question how likely a reunion would be. Time will tell.”
