The highly anticipated third installment of the “Venom” franchise now has an official title: “Venom: The Last Dance.” Scheduled for an earlier release date on October 25, 2024, as opposed to the initially planned November 8 date, this sequel will see Tom Hardy reprising his role as Eddie Brock/Venom, the lethal protector. Joining Hardy are Juno Temple, Chiwetel Ejiofor, and Clark Backo in undisclosed roles, adding to the intrigue surrounding the film’s plot details that remain tightly guarded.

Marking her feature directorial debut, Kelly Marcel, who also penned the screenplay based on a story she developed with Tom Hardy, will be at the helm of “Venom: The Last Dance.” The movie is produced by a team including Avi Arad, Matt Tolmach, Amy Pascal, Hutch Parker, Marcel, and Hardy. Building on the success of the first two films in the franchise, directed by Ruben Fleischer and Andy Serkis, the upcoming installment aims to continue the momentum, following the box office success that the series has enjoyed, grossing a combined $1.3 billion worldwide.

The announcement of “Venom: The Last Dance” at CinemaCon in April 2022 generated significant excitement among fans, especially given that it will mark Venom’s first full-fledged appearance since a post-credits cameo in “Spider-Man: No Way Home.” With production having faced delays due to the SAG-AFTRA strike, the film’s progress resumed towards the end of 2023. As the cast and crew near the completion of filming, Juno Temple’s remarks about the project being a thrilling journey with a talented ensemble suggest a promising addition to the “Venom” saga, hinting at an adventure that fans of the franchise will eagerly anticipate.
