Matt Murdock’s next season is shaping up to be deeply, wonderfully personal. Daredevil Born Again Season 3 set photos circulating online have now given us clear looks at both of its reported new villains: Elektra, in her most comic-accurate screen costume yet, and Muse, the serial-killer artist whose mask alone belongs in a horror movie.

We are not hosting the photos here, but the galleries are one click away and they are worth it. Here is what they show, and what we think it means.

What do the Daredevil Born Again Season 3 set photos show?

Per The Direct’s roundup of the material that has emerged from the New York shoot, Elektra appears in a red headband, a red-and-black sleeveless top and tactical pants, trading blows with Daredevil himself in set videos. That silhouette is pure Frank Miller, and a world away from the Netflix era’s black-and-red bodysuit.

Muse, meanwhile, is all nightmare: the classic bloodied mask, a trench coat and beanie, photographed stalking down an abandoned street, with a cheeky “553” easter egg tucked into the set dressing for eagle-eyed comic readers. Just Jared’s gallery also captured the makeup transformation behind the mask.

Who is playing Elektra and Muse?

The reporting points to Elodie Yung stepping back into Elektra’s sais, reprising the role she owned across the Netflix era’s Daredevil Season 2 and The Defenders, where she died, came back wrong, and vanished into the Midland Circle rubble. Nearly a decade later, that dangling thread finally gets pulled.

The Muse reveal is the bigger shock. Season 1 of Born Again already had a Muse, and he did not survive it. The set photos point to Margarita Levieva’s Heather Glenn, Matt’s girlfriend turned tragedy magnet, taking up the dead killer’s mask and turning the show’s most disturbing villain into its most personal one.

Our verdict on believability: the costumes and fight footage are on camera, so the characters themselves are as close to locked as unofficial gets. The casting specifics are still technically unconfirmed until Marvel says the names out loud, but set photos of this clarity rarely lie. We would put the Elektra return at a 9 out of 10 and the Heather-as-Muse twist only slightly lower.

Why two personal villains changes everything for Matt

Think about the shape of this season. Elektra is the love Matt could never save or quit. Heather is the love his double life chewed up. One fights him in daylight, the other paints in blood. After two seasons of Kingpin’s chokehold on New York, Born Again pivoting to intimate, emotional warfare is exactly the Daredevil comics playbook, and it is the show operating from strength as Marvel Television doubles down on its street-level slate.

The Man Without Fear is having a moment everywhere right now, from these photos to Daredevil skins landing in Marvel Rivals. Hell’s Kitchen is prime MCU real estate again.

What happens next

Season 3 is filming now, and while Disney+ has not confirmed a premiere date, the show’s March window has served it well two years running, so early 2027 is the smart bet. Expect an official casting announcement, and probably a first-look image, once Marvel is ready to control the story the set photos already started telling.

So, Elektra versus Muse for the soul of Matt Murdock: which villain are you more hyped to see, and do you buy Heather under the mask? Tell us below.
