As the launch date of Echo, the next series in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, approaches, a new promotional image features Maya Lopez living the high life. According to sources, Marvel released a new image promoting the lead character from the much awaited Hawkeye spinoff, which has Lopez wearing a backpack, riding a motorbike, and appearing to be in combat mode. Hawkeye’s Echo, played by Alaqua Cox in the television series, returns in 2021. In addition to being the upcoming MCU series onDisney+, Echo will also be the first programme to air under the recently announced Marvel Spotlight umbrella. Marvel hopes to use the new label to present “more grounded, character-driven” storylines in its TV shows and motion pictures. Marvel Spotlight will showcase stories that are not heavily linked to or dependent on the greater MCU narrative, departing from the studio’s usual big-budget approach.

The story of Echo centres on Lopez, the former boss of the criminal group known as the Tracksuit Mafia, which was subordinate to the evil Wilson Fisk/Kingpin (Vincent D’Onofrio). Echo leaves Hawkeye and heads back to Oklahoma, where she makes an effort to fully embrace her family and neighbourhood. She struggles, though, to accept her former life, which causes her to cope with a lot of unresolved emotions that Fisk is known to take advantage of. This makes for some heated exchanges. Lopez is the “villain” in Echo as she battles her prior issues, according to Marvel. Sydney Freeland is the director of Echo. It debuted with an official trailer that included Lopez in action, Kingpin’s reappearance, and a recap of some of Hawkeye’s most significant moments. Because of several graphic scenes and brutal conflicts, the next series is classified TV-MA. In addition, Charlie Cox plays Daredevil again in the MCU miniseries before he appears in the Born Again movie alongside Tantoo Cardinal, Devery Jacobs, and Chaske Spencer. The show’s creator, Marion Dayre, is well-known for her work on Better Call Saul. Marvel said that Echo will only have five episodes, all of which will be published at the same time. The show was originally scheduled to have six episodes. Freeland and Catriona McKenzie are co-directors of Echo. The period of filming was April through August of 2022.
